The beginning...
The quintet we all know now as New Found Glory had almost a storybook beginning, starting the band back in 1997 in a little suburb town, Coral Springs, Florida. These punks played many shows, giving themselves a name in southern Florida. The band happened to sign to a label as a favor from their friend Amy Fiddler. She helped NFG plant their roots in the punk underground by having them release "all about the girls", a five-song ep. The boys toured endlessly, renting u-haul trucks or small little vans. Because of this touring, they met a band call Midtown. The band Midtown had just signed to a small indie label called Drive Thru Records. Midtown like NFG so much, that when the Drive-Thru owners Stephanie and Richard Reines heard NFG's sound on a CD that Midtown had, Stephanie and Richard both made a quick move and flew out to Florida from Los Angeles to meet the guys, and sign them to their label. After Nothing Gold Can Stay and New Found Glory were released, the band signed to MCA, but still remaining partially on Drive-Thru. Sticks and Stones was just released this summer, with the signature relationship lyrics and pop-punk beats, capivating the growing audience from the little punk band from Coral Springs, Florida. |

NFG TV performances
NFG have been on Conan O'Brian twice, and Jay Leno once. Their first performace was in 2001 on Conan O'Brian and they performed Hit or Miss. They played My Friends Over You yet again on Jay Leno, putting in their best TV performance ever!
NFG's first show
They played their first show ever on June 11, 1997...exactly 5 years back from the release date of "Sticks and Stones". They played; Scraped Knees, Shadow, Standstill, Son of A Gun, JB, Envy at Cheers in Miami, Florida. The drummer was a guy by the name of "Taco Joe" who never really came to practice and wasn't as motivated as the other guys, and so they picked up Cyrus about 6 months later at the CD release show in Davie, Florida. They played: Dammit Intro, Scraped Knees, Certain, Standstill, Passing Time, Shadow, Cyrus Bolooki, JB, Son of A Gun, The Goodbye Song, My Solution.
